CRICUT EASY PRESS REVIEW

Hey Crafter's

I got the new Cricut Easy Press and figured I tell you my initial thoughts.  Okay here goes . . . WOW!  I don't have room for a heat press in my space so this seemed like a good compromised.  The footprint of this 9 x 9 surface is great, and it stores easily on my little rolling cart.

Now I have done iron-on with the regular iron before and oh my goodness did I struggle to have consistency with getting the iron-on to stay down.  With the Easy Press I did the project that comes with the machine, glitter iron-on and then did another project on an apron.  The machine did not take as long as the book said to heat up, in fact it was under five minutes and it was beeping at me that it was ready to begin.  Since I used two types of iron-on I had to reset the temperature and it did not take long for the machine to adjust.
I do hate the fact that they tell you that you should have the Cricut mat for this machine, but the mat was not available to order from Cricut when I first got my machine.  Ugghh.  I wanted to try the machine out right away so I  had a heat resistant mat on top of my butcher block and then some folded cotton material on top of the mat.  I then purchased a replacement heat press mat from Amazon and it worked well.
After getting the heat press mat, I now see that the Cricut mat has been released.  Michael's had it on sale online for $14.99 so I got one.  I am now waiting for that to arrive, and I'll let you know how that works after I try it out.
Let me know if you have an Easy Press I would love to here your story.
